Why it's called DeBug Garage
Fixing up a Bug and debugging its code, and a little Dutch.
Two meanings, one garage, and one reason.
Why build it at all. I needed a car, and I needed to do something positive with my time besides sit and code. So I'm building one. I work with my hands, I take time with my wife and kids, and I focus on my health. It's how I'm turning negatives into positives. The bigger picture lives at jasonpieters.ai; this site is the car and the build.
De Bug. I'm Indo, Dutch-Indonesian, and my dad was born in the Netherlands. In Dutch "de Bug" is simply "the Bug", though over there the Beetle is de Kever. The plate on the car says the rest: IAMINDO.
Debug. This car gets modern electronics: digital gauges, a fuse and relay panel under the back seat, an AI DJ radio. Fixing a Bug and debugging its code turn out to be the same job.
It's a family build: my wife and our kids first, then my dad, my brothers and the rest of the family. The rule is 12 to 15 hours a week, and Sundays stay family time.
